Cowrie Cabin is a cozy, comfortable and secure haven for those who love nature and a sea view.
A short 5 minute amble down Suikerbekkie Avenue will bring you to the tranquil lagoon, with a slipway for your dinghy or canoe (we have a Legend Proteus kayak & two fishing rods for your use) which makes fishing the calm, shallow waters simple even for the beginner. An abundance of waterfowl & other birdlife makes for beautiful photographic opportunities, especially when the sun sets across the lake as you sit on one of the many mosaic-covered benches along the water’s edge.
A further 15 minute flat walk westwards along the lagoon will bring you to the main village while a 15 minute walk southwards will take you to the well-known lagoon mouth lookout point from where the majestic Gericke’s Point with its fossilized cliffs can be seen.
The open plan living area is south & west facing & opens southwards onto the partially covered upstairs wooden deck which houses a wooden table & chairs, weber braai & a partially enclosed area (in case the easterly blows) with loungers for you to relax on and enjoy the view of the bushveld to the left and the lagoon and sea straight ahead.
A small living area which leads onto the patio and main entertainment area with walled in braai. The washing machine & tumble dryer can be found in this area.
One large north facing bedroom upstairs with kingsized bed & built-in cupboards & full bathroom with a bath.
Two medium sized bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen sized bed & the other with two single beds. Both bedrooms have their own full bathrooms, both with a shower.
Downstairs are the washing machine, tumble dryer & ironing board & iron as well as the braai griddle.
Our friendly resident Malawian gardener, Paul, looks after the property while you are out and is unobtrusive while you are on site as he resides in separate quarters adjoining the garage.
